A Glowing Recommendation for Web Hosting

By far, the best deal in web hosting I have seen is 2globalmart.com.  They offer both Windows and Unix based servers with a lot of free features.  These include email server spam and virus filtering which is extremely important lately.  They also have the best prices I have seen.  I can't imagine why you would use anyone else, unless you like wasting money.  I use them for many sites, and have for a couple of years.  The sites are quite responsive, with almost no downtime.  I believe shopping carts are free on most if not all plans.  I use the Unix servers most of the time (They're cheaper, just as easy to use and even support Front Page Extensions.  Of course they also support cgi, php, etc.)  You can start out with a 1 domain website for something like $30.00 a year.  Also, the last I knew they also offer free web hosting (With a banner ad).  Or, you can host multiple domains.  This is no sales pitch crap, I really recommend these people.  See the site: 2globalmart.com -

How to fix your system for FREE if it's infected with Viruses or Spyware

How you can remove spyware and viruses for FREE!

Download a free Firewall (If you don't already have one).  Hackers love to try to poke stuff into your system.  I was surprised to find this happening frequently even on dial up connections.  If you have a network hub to share internet connections, it probably has a firewall built in.  The free download (really) that I recommend is Zone Alarm.  I have had many people install this on their systems, and it seems to be easy to use and effective.  On the site they have a free version, which works pretty good, or a Pro version, which offers more protection options.  If you get the Pro version, I make a few bucks.  I think if you're a business you're supposed to get the Pro version.  I'll leave the decision up to you.  Here's the link: ZoneAlarm Free Download
Download a free anti-virus program.  If you installed an anti-virus program some time ago and have not paid for the updates, it is almost useless.  AVG has a free version and a paid version, (what a surprise!).  The free version seems to work fine, but the paid version has a lot more options which probably can make the virus scan much faster.  If you have a lot of files on your hard drive, it may be worth the investment. They also offer FREE UPDATES, so you don't have to worry about your update service running out.  The reason you need the updates is that new viruses are usually the only ones circulating on the internet.  Link to get AVG Anti virus
Download something to get rid of SPYWARE.  Some Spyware doesn't do much, except slow down your Internet connection a little bit.  But some is very nasty stuff.  You have to get rid of the nasty stuff, at least.  A pretty good one is SpyBot Search and destroy.  This is a free download, but they do ask for donations (not mandatory) on the site.  Here's the link: http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html
Tip:  You may want to run the anti-virus in safe mode if you have any problems.  Ditto for spybot.  They probably will run a lot slower, but most of the trash programs are not loaded in safe mode, so the can't mess with the operation of your programs.  If you still have problems, send an email to webmaster@livingcheap.4cny.com describing the problem, and I'll try to help.  One final tip:  Be very suspicious of emails with attachments with a .doc, .pif, .bat, .com, .exe, .scr and .zip extension.  If you receive one of these files make sure the person you received it from actually sent it.  Before opening attachments (you weren't expecting) reply to the email and see what happens.  Also, you can be infected by free music download sites even if you have a firewall.  There is much spyware that slows down your system.  Some of the biggies that I've seen are weatherbug and gator precision time.  They are usually installed when a popup appears asking if you want to install them.  Personally, I wouldn't.  Good Luck.  Oh yeah, by the way, if you get good at this, you can use this as a service to make some extra money!

How to Set Up Features On a Web Site.

We have set up quite a few web sites over the years, starting with a great deal of computer knowledge and virtually no knowledge of the Internet.  One of the first places we found for help and resources was Bravenet.  They provide lots of tools and add-ins for web sites, and also a great newsletter.  Most of their services are available for free.  They provide easy to use scripts that provide a variety of services to enhance your site including message forums, cartoons, chat rooms, guest books, etc which are easier to set up than the ones available as scripts on web site hosting providers.  Sign up is free.  To check out Bravenet, click the following link
